I’m an educator passionate abour supporting people on their career journey.

Hi! I’m Laura.

I'm an educator passionate about helping people navigate their career journey.

I’ve been a career development professional in Canadian higher education for 4 years (and an educator for 14!) and have helped thousands of students, alumni and other folks search for jobs and explore career paths.

I encourage people to reflect deeply on their skills, knowledge, and interests, empowering them to find great jobs through research, networking, and experimentation. It has been a privilege to help so many people learn how to strategically job search, discover unconventional career paths and re-discover their confidence, .

My career path has been a lesson in the beauty of taking chances on unexpected opportunities and leaning into your strengths - I went from studying dance professionally, through formal teacher training and into 10 years in the non-profit sector, as an educator, program manager, curriculum designer and wearer-of-many-hats (HR, operations, fundraising, partnerships - the list goes on!). For the past 5 years, I’ve been in the career education space and haven’t looked back.

You can read about more about my career journey on LinkedIn.

I’d love to get to know you! Reach out to me at hello@lauramackinnon.ca.
